Arty BeesLiterary Mash-ups and Mix-ups at Arty Bee’s
The thing that makes bookshops great is the interaction between the staff and the customers. Actual, real, person to person contact. The back and forth discussions, recommendations and discoveries of new authors. Sometimes the interactions can be a bit weird.

A few years ago a customer came into the store and asked for The Wind in the Willows. . . by D H Lawrence. What would The Wind and the Willows be like if it was written by D H Lawrence? or even Lady Chatterley’s Lover by Kenneth Graham? So for NZ Bookshop day we are celebrating that kind of interaction, the weird and quirky.

When it happens in bookshops it is often fun. In the lead up we want you to send us your ideas about quirky combinations of Books and Authors. Tweet the ideas to @artybees. If you go the next step, a blurb or a few paragraphs from the book in your imagination, email them to news@artybees.co.nz, so they can share them on Facebook and Twitter.

Finally if you make up the cover of the book we will print them off and put them on display in store for NZ Bookshop Day. We will give prizes for our favorite mix-ups and mash-ups but you will need to come into the store to collect your prize.
